Microgeneration

Bglobal’s Analyser service allows the user to analyse energy, production and degree day data both graphically and in tabular form.

New technology brings new opportunity. The urgency to cut our carbon emissions requires action at local level, not just national or international.

Micro-generation is where this opportunity and need meet.

People all over Britain are now beginning to generate their own electricity, through solar panels, small scale wind-turbines and even small scale hydroelectricity schemes.

Generating electricity in a small scale has the power to take office buildings, farms and houses “off the grid” and even produce more power than they consume, feeding directly into the electricity network.
Did you know...
Microgeneration
A typical large power station wastes over a third of its fuel by simply heating up the atmosphere.

A further 10% of this is wasted in transmission and distribution, meaning less than half of the fuel is used productively by the consumer.

By comparison, microgeneration technologies use more than 90% of the fuel productively for heat or electricity, or are powered by clean, renewable sources.

Energy Suppliers have traditionally struggled to provide an accurate method to bill this activity but this is changing as people all over the country increase the amount of small-scale generation by implementing technology.

Without a smart meter attached to the generation device then producers of small scale electricity have no hope of receiving the true benefit of their endeavours.

Bglobal has installed import-export smart meters for people and businesses generating their own electricity and is one of few companies with skills and technology to do this, and measure the “net-effect” of imported energy against exported energy to find the true cost/price position for our customers.

Bglobal is working with individual micro-generators all over Britain and with Energy Suppliers who are trying hard to deliver a range or measurement and billing services that meet this new customer segment and rapidly increasing demand.

Micro-generation is something of a “cottage industry” for now, but Bglobal believes that one day most homes and businesses will be generating their own electricity. Smart meters are a big part of that future story and Bglobal has the expertise to make it happen.

If you are generating electricity or are considering implementing micro-generation then you should talk to us today about having a Bglobal Import-Export smart meter installed.
