Smart1 Power Bike Competitors are Top of the Table

Any visitor to the UK’s premier energy event Sustainability Live could not have avoided the crowds around the Bglobal Metering Stand cheering delegates to try their best to beat the rest on Bglobal’s Power Bike.

Over three days event attendees pumped an astonishing 100,000+ Watts of energy through the bike, all measured by the ground breaking new Bglobal Smart1 meter which was zigbee-enabled to display the energy produced on in home displays as well as through Bglobal’s Web Analyser software on to big screen displays. Competition for the top of the leader board was fierce with many people returning again and again to better their scores.

Top scorers were John Jackson with 1034 Watts and Jonathan Abra with 856 Watts produced in 30 second bursts. Both Jonathan and John will soon be proud owners of TeamBglobal cycling shirts, courtesy of Bglobal Metering.

Bglobal Sales Director, Jon Turner commented, “Our Smart1 meter and PowerBike attraction demonstrated how energy counts if you want to get to the top of the table! Bglobal would like to take this opportunity to thank all the cyclists who helped to make the Sustainability Live one of our highlights of 2010 so far. The energy and enthusiasm the stand attracted, matches perfectly with our company’s energy and enthusiasm to make energy count through Smart Metering and Data Provision.”

One of our winners, Jonathan told us, “I am over the moon with my prize, a real bonus to the great time I had on the Bglobal stand. Since NEMEX, I have been following the fortunes of TeamBglobal and doing my best to enjoy the sunshine on my own bike. No excuses now with my new TeamBglobal jersey! Thank you to the Bglobal team.”
