Bglobal delivers a value stack of infrastructure, data collection, data analysis and ther energy services to help you make energy count even more.

These include Sub Metering, Multi Utility installations (water, gas, electricity), Carbon Reduction strategies plus Bill Validation, energy procurement and other innovative Energy Management Services.

Multi Utility:

Bglobal offers a range of solutions for collecting data from a variety of utilities including gas and water alongside electricity. By adding data hub devices to our electricity smart meter the meter is able to store multi-utility profile data ready for remote collection at the same time as the electricity data is retrieved. Bglobal’s multi-utility solution is very cost effective when collecting other utilities because separate meters or data loggers are not required and the data is collected on the same stream.

To collect gas readings we use a range of tools, for example we may connect an ATEX approved radio device to the available operational pulsed outputs of an existing gas meter. To collect water readings we may connect an approved radio device to the available operational pulsed outputs of the existing water meter. The radio devices transmit the gas and water consumption using low power radio frequency to the data hub electricity meter for onward transmission to Bglobal Metering’s data centre. In this way we utilize a single mobile network SIM card and modem to bring back all of the energy data for each site reducing the overall communications costs. We can bring up to seven multi utility data streams back through one electricity smart meter.

The half hourly gas and water profile data is retrieved from the meters and will be provided to the customer via a web connection or alternatively the customer can take advantage of Bglobal’s own web based M&T energy management software package.

Sub- Metering

Bglobal is able to provide a range of measurement and metering services for non-settlement sub-metering applications which enable customers to get really focused on managing their consumption – right down to the level of individual rooms, floorspaces and items of equipment.

Often we install a sub-meter (alongside the main settlement meter) and retrieve the data from the meter using the same robust systems and processes we utilise in the settlement meter market. In this way we can provide a reliable sub-meter service where we deliver regular meter register readings for billing and also where required provide profile data down to the half-hourly level on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.

The profile data can be provided to the customer via a web connection or alternatively the customer can take advantage of Bglobal’s own web based AM&T energy management software package. Sub metering is a simple and powerful way for customers to measure and manage the output of specific areas of buildings, or areas of specific consumption such as on individual pieces of machinery.

Sub metering is an increasingly popular choice for building and facilities managers wanting to gain deep visibility over exactly where and when energy is being consumed and the associated costs. Bglobal has a dedicated team of sub metering and multi utility engineers who are highly experienced at delivering and installing such systems.

Analysis tools

Bglobal has a comprehensive Web based Energy Management System (WebAnalyser). The WebAnalyser Module enables customers to easily access and view their energy consumption data and profiles in graphical report formats, at any time, via a web browser. Energy Efficiency analysis tools are also available to enable customers to identify energy savings. The following will provided as part of the Web Analyser Service:
 

• Half hourly Meter Data Profiles on a monthly, weekly or daily basis for each site where an Advanced Metering System has been installed.
• Meter Data Profile reports can be accessed at any time by the customer via a web browser facility.
• The web browser facility will be fully password protected secure environment.
• The customer can view half hourly Meter Data Profile reports for any defined period from the installation date of an Advanced Metering System to the date of the last download.
• A core set of pre-written energy consumption reports along with specific tools to analyse energy consumption patterns and costs.

This tool can help you to take advantage of the Carbon Reduction Commitment. The UK’s new carbon emissions trading scheme will start operating in April 2010. As part of this scheme the money collected from participants for carbon emission allowances is recycled back to the participants based on their overall performance.

So a company that achieves significant energy and carbon savings is likely to receive a payment greater than the cost of purchasing their allowances. Whereas companies that do not reduce their carbon emissions will receive less than they paid into the scheme.

Virtual Energy Manager

Where you do not have time or resource available to analyse the profile data available via WebAnalyser then Bglobal can provide a managed service where Bglobal’s Energy Analysts will review your sites energy consumption to identify, for example,

• Excessive usage patterns;
• Opportunities for energy savings;
• Opportunities for spread of best practices; and
• More cost effective energy Tariffs.

You will be provided with regular reports that will identify those areas which you need to investigate and where you can implement energy saving practices to enable you to minimise your energy use and hence your carbon emissions. This could therefore allow you to sell your carbon emission allowances to organisations who have not bought enough allowances to meet their actual carbon emissions. It is anticipated that you will be able to sell these allowances at a higher price than you have paid for them.

Bill Validation

Once you have our smart meters installed we are able to offer a Bill Validation service where we use the data we have collected to validate the bills issued by the energy supplier. Where appropriate any overcharges are recovered from your supplier. You are kept informed of all bills which need to be paid, those which are being withheld and those which are in dispute. You gain peace of mind that you are only paying for the energy you are using. Often the costs that are recovered by our consultants through bill validation can exceed the cost of our service.

Energy Procurement Services

If your requirements are that of purely an energy contract procurement service we have consultants who dedicate their time to monitoring not only the energy market but also the individual strengths and weaknesses of all the energy suppliers in the current market place.

We have found from our experience that though one particular supplier may boast the best tariff match another has been favoured for more practical or feasible reasons. Bglobal consultants will prepare your energy tender and send it out to the market. We then gather all the replies together and present them to your organisation in an easy to understand manner.

Though Bglobal will remain impartial as always in your decision making our consultants will be close at hand for any unbiased and professional advice you may need to help reach your decision. Once you have made your decision on which supplier contract your organisation wishes to proceed with, Bglobal will support the process of migration from your existing supplier to that of your new energy provider.
